Artemis is a striking, kind-hearted Thoroughbred with the relaxed, steady feel of a classic hunter. He moves at an unhurried rhythm, genuinely wants to work for his rider, and offers a quiet, enjoyable ride for someone who appreciates a large, athletic horse.
A rescue now settled into his forever home at Swan River, Artemis is continuing to gain weight, build muscle, and improve his overall fitness. He is also still developing some everyday barn manners, including standing patiently on the crossties and lifting his feet politely, but his progress has been fast and rewarding.
Currently walking, trotting, cantering, and jumping small crossrails, Artemis’s jumping work will gradually increase as his strength and conditioning improve. Because of his height and athleticism, he is especially well suited to taller riders, though his calm nature also makes him an appealing partner for a confident junior.
Artemis makes friends quickly and currently enjoys spending time with his buddies Spirit and Mr. B.
