FEATURED EVENT
Pole Power Clinic
November 8th
Pole work is valuable for every rider—not just jumpers! Join Katie Erickson for purposeful exercises designed to improve balance, rhythm, straightness, accuracy and control. Riders will be grouped by experience level, from beginners working at the walk and trot through advanced riders tackling technical patterns and cavaletti. No jumping is required, and riders from all disciplines are welcome.
The clinic is open to current Swan River students and outside riders, with options to bring your own horse or request a limited school-horse spot. Space is limited to 3–5 riders per group, so register early to reserve your place!

In Loving Memory
Remembering Mr. B
We are heartbroken to share the passing of Buster, affectionately known as Mr. B.
Buster had recently been adopted by Wendy Remmers, who brought him to Swan River Stables to spend his retirement being spoiled, loved, and treasured.
Their time together was much too short, but the bond they formed was something truly special. It didn't take long to see how completely Buster had stolen Wendy's heart—or how happy he was to have found his person.
Although we didn't get nearly enough time with Mr. B at Swan River, he quickly became a familiar and loved face around the barn. His passing leaves a very big hole in Wendy's heart and in ours.
We are so grateful that Buster's final chapter was filled with the love and devotion he deserved, and that Wendy had the chance to call him hers, even if it wasn't for nearly long enough.
Rest easy, Mr. B. You were so very loved. ❤️
Meet Our Team
Welcome, Katie!
We’re excited to welcome Katie to the Swan River Stables Lesson Program team! Katie brings years of experience riding, training, teaching, and showing, along with a special history at Swan River—she spent many years as a student of Lesson Program Director Samantha Cotter.
Now an accomplished horsewoman and carded horse show judge, Katie shares our commitment to developing thoughtful, capable riders with strong foundations both in and out of the saddle. We’re thrilled to have her joining our riders this fall!

There’s something new for our Lesson Program riders this fall! Our Rider Board was created as a fun way to build community, celebrate our students, and keep everyone connected to what’s happening in the program.
Riders can stop by each week to check out new questions, challenges, announcements, and opportunities to share a little about themselves. We love seeing our riders participate—and getting to know one another beyond their regular lesson groups!
