Swan River Stables exists because one horse captured a family's heart.
When Cherie Manning learned that the farm where her beloved horse, Cricket, lived was being sold, she was faced with an impossible choice. Cricket was thriving there, and the thought of uprooting him from the place he called home didn't feel right. Instead of searching for another barn, Cherie made the extraordinary decision to purchase the property, preserving the home Cricket loved and creating a place where countless other horses and riders could flourish.
What began as an act of love for one horse has grown into a welcoming equestrian community built on compassion, quality care, and meaningful relationships.
Today, Swan River Stables is home to riders of all ages and experience levels. Whether someone is climbing into the saddle for the very first time, preparing for competition, leasing their first horse, or simply enjoying time at the barn, every person who walks through our gates becomes part of the Swan River family.
At our core, we believe that horses have a remarkable way of changing lives. They teach confidence, responsibility, patience, resilience, and kindness. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive environment where both horses and people can thrive together.
